Connect with Wildlife
We find that certain wildlife will expose remarkable displays of emotional depth, curiosity and consciousness; though they often reveal this depth for only brief moments. Here we present portraits that have a strong tendency to reveal the consciousness of subjects, eliciting a connection between viewer and subject. These images are made with two goals: To freeze the subject's expressions of consciousness when revealed, and to present their expressions in a manner our viewers can appreciate. Here you'll find a diverse selection of wildlife whose expressions belie depth; and observable consciousness, that we hope you can sense and appreciate. We wish all visitors to this page a splendid day.
“Every time we study animals, they’re smarter than we ever thought they were. So maybe for our own ego, we kept building ourselves up; saying how separate and distinct we are as humans in the animal kingdom, when maybe we’re not as separate as we think we are.” — Neil Degrasse Tyson
